Sexual Abuse and Family Violence

As a trauma-informed therapist, I understand the impact that sexual abuse and family violence can have on an individual’s mental health and well-being. If you are someone who has experienced these types of trauma, it is important to know that healing is possible. I am here to provide you with a safe and supportive space where you can begin to process your experiences and work towards healing.

My approach to counseling is focused on creating a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship with my clients. I have specialized training in trauma-focused therapies such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), which are evidence-based practices for treating trauma.

In addition, I have experience working with clients using somatic-based therapies, which focus on the connection between the mind and body. This approach can help you regulate mid-body sensations associated with trauma and re-establish a sense of safety and calm.

During our therapeutic sessions, we will work together to address the impact of trauma on your mental health and relationships. We will explore your emotions and thoughts, identify any negative beliefs that are hindering your healing, and develop strategies for coping and self-care.

It is common to feel overwhelmed or anxious when beginning therapy, especially if you have experienced trauma. Please know that I am here to support you in a non-judgmental and compassionate manner. Together, we can work towards reclaiming your life and developing a greater sense of well-being.

If you are ready to take the first step towards healing, please reach out to schedule an appointment. Your path to healing begins here.
